How much do dental implants cost in Walsall? A clear, honest guide

This guide sets out dental implants cost in Walsall at Allsopp Dental, in plain numbers, along with what affects the price and why an implant can work out as better value than it first appears.

If you are missing a tooth, you have probably already Googled the price of an implant and been met with a confusing mix of "from" prices, overseas clinic deals and very little explanation. It is hard to know what is realistic, what is included and whether the cheaper quotes are too good to be true. This guide sets out dental implants cost in Walsall at Allsopp Dental, in plain numbers, along with what affects the price and why an implant can work out as better value than it first appears.

Key takeaways

  • A single dental implant and restoration at Allsopp Dental costs £2,450.
  • Your first in-practice implant consultation costs £100.
  • 0% APR finance with no deposit is available through our sister practice, Allsopp Smile, subject to status.
  • Implants have the potential to last a lifetime with good care, which can make them more cost-effective than replacing bridges or dentures every few years.

Dental implant prices at Allsopp Dental

Here are our current prices:

  • In-practice implant consultation: £100
  • Single implant and restoration (the false tooth fitted on top): £2,450

If you need more than one implant, an implant-supported bridge or a full set of teeth replaced, your price will depend on your individual plan. We will give you a full, written breakdown at your consultation, so there are no surprises. You can see all our fees on our costs page.

What is included in the price of a dental implant?

A dental implant is made up of two main parts. The implant itself is a small titanium post that sits in your jawbone and acts like a tooth root. On top of that sits the restoration, usually a crown, which is the part you see when you smile.

At Allsopp Dental, your treatment also includes the planning that sits behind a successful implant. We use CBCT, a type of 3D X-ray, to see the bone in your jaw in detail, and an iTero digital scanner to take accurate impressions without the messy putty. Planning in this way helps us place each implant precisely and predictably.

What affects the cost of dental implants?

No two mouths are the same, which is why any honest implant price comes with a few caveats. The main things that can change your cost are:

  • How many teeth you are replacing. One implant can support one crown; several implants can support a bridge or a full set of teeth.
  • The health of your jawbone and gums. An implant needs enough healthy bone to hold it securely. If you have lost bone or have gum disease, you may need treatment first to get your mouth ready.
  • Whether a tooth needs removing. If the damaged tooth is still in place, an extraction will be part of your plan.
  • Sedation. If you are nervous, we can provide on-site dental sedation to help you relax.

Why cheaper implants are not always cheaper

It is tempting to shop around on price alone, and we understand why. But the quality of the implant and the experience of the person placing it make a real difference to how long it lasts.

At Allsopp Dental, we use only Straumann implants. Straumann is a global brand with around 30 years of scientific research behind its products, and the company guarantees its implants for life. Our dentists are Straumann Gold+ providers.

Experience matters just as much. Dr Jonathan Allsopp has been placing implants since 1996 and has placed more than 5,000 to date. He is a member of the International Team for Implantology and the Association of Dental Implantology. Working alongside him, Dr Mandeep Soorae brings five years of implant experience and Straumann-mentored training.

A poorly planned implant, or one placed far from home with little aftercare, can end up costing more to put right than doing it properly in the first place.

Are dental implants worth the cost?

For many people, yes. Implants replace the whole tooth, root and all, so they look, feel and work like natural teeth. You can eat the foods you enjoy, smile without worrying and stop thinking about the gap.

There is a long-term cost argument too. Because implants have the potential to last a lifetime with good care, they can work out more cost-effective than a bridge or denture that may need replacing every five to ten years. Implants also help preserve the bone in your jaw, which can otherwise shrink when a tooth is missing and make your face look older over time.

How to spread the cost of dental implants

We want implant treatment to be within reach, so you do not have to pay for it all at once:

  • 0% APR finance, no deposit: available through our sister practice, Allsopp Smile, subject to status.
  • Blue light discount: blue light card holders can get 10% off dental implants. Mention it when you book.
  • Seasonal offers: we sometimes run offers on implant treatment, so ask our team what is available.
